  1. Roatan, April 6th & 7th
We awoke to another beautiful and warm morning on the sea. We arrived in Roatan a little early although it took a bit of maneuvering on the captain’s part to get us in there. We had a gorgeous day on Maya Key and the kids got to watch the feeding of the sharks and sea lions and we saw the monkeys and Toucans. They swam in the pool as the ocean there has too much coral but we came back to Mahogany Bay and rode the ski lifts to the beach and back then came back to the ship to get ready for dinner and the kids went and played golf and met us at dinner so Debbie and I had quiet to get ready for dinner. We didn’t leave at 7 as we were supposed to as it got very windy. We had dinner and went to the show which was Dancing in the Street with the acrobatic Fun Force guys who were absolutely awesome! When that was over we went to Lido and watched the laser show to Pink Floyd which was cool. The new departure time was supposed to be 10 PM which didn’t happen either and the announcement made said we would now be leaving with the Crown Princess which was docked in front of us at 2 AM. Debbie and I got up and looked out at 6:30 AM and we were still here but left at 8 AM and now we are having a “fun day at sea” instead of a port day at Belize. So no Belize on this trip..we are going to Costa Maya at full speed right now. It is beautiful and hot today so the kids will probably do the waterslides and pool and be happy. Debbie and I will probably do the casino for awhile. We will update again later.

  2. I could have sworn I had been to Roatan but when I think about what I did there I have no idea. The chair lift looked really cool, though. You say it took you to a beach? Where did you get on it?

Sounds like you guys are having fun despite missing Belize. Poor Belize, first us, now you. I'm sure they are very sad there.

Dollywood was very crowded and still hot for this time of year. It is finally cooling off a bit today. We did get to see the Cirque show which is why I really wanted to go and it was well worth it.

Say "hi" to Freddy if you ever see him.

  3. Kay...Carnival built a new cruise center like Grand Turk in Roatan which opened just last November. RCL took over the other one and this one is on the other side of the point and island from Coxen Hole where we used to dock and is called Mahogany Bay. From where the ship docks like Grand Turk there are shops and a bridge that takes you across the water to a beach. The chair lifts are where you dock and you ride across the water to the beach or you can just ride back and forth all day. Had we known we could have been there again the next day we would have saved the arm bands they gave us. Bummer, they didn't let us off again.

I never saw Freddy not once and I searched for him. The kids thought it was funny since they had been with him several times at Camp Carnival. Christopher won the dance contest the last night with Freddy and was upset because he got a medal instead of a ship on a stick!

I finally got the coveted "silver" card and stationary with my name on it! Woohoo!
